With the arrival of the spring season comes the arrival event season! The weather is getting warmer, the flowers are blooming, and the days are a little bit longer. Here are five outdoor events to check out in Ventura County Coast!
1. Skull & Roses Festival
Skull & Roses Festival is a music festival to explore unique interpretations of Grateful Dead music at the Ventura County Fairgrounds on April 6-8 featuring artists like Golden Gate Wingmen, Stu Allen & Mars Hotel, Roosevelt Collier, Grateful Bluegrass Boys, Cubensis, and more!

2. Oxnard Earth Day
On Saturday, April 14, the city of Oxnard joins in the global celebration of Oxnard Earth Day! The event will be held at Plaza Park, located on the corner of Fifth and “C” streets in downtown Oxnard from 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM. There will be live music, community displays, activities for children, tasty food, and tons of fun! Admission is free.
The time is now to continue to act locally while thinking globally about your impact on the environment!

3. Ventura County Blues Festival
Celebrating its thirteenth year, the Ventura County Blues Festival returns on Saturday, April 28, at Studio Channel Islands. There will be performances by Earl Thomas, John Nemeth, VCBS All Star Jam, and more! Gates open at 10:00 AM, music begins at 11:00 AM, and there will be a guitar giveaway, craft vendors, and delicious food!

4. Camarillo Ranch Throwback Thursday Food Truck Festival
Camarillo Ranch Throwback Thursday Food Truck Festival returns April 26! Stop by each final Thursday of the month for the #TBTFoodTruckFest featuring local food truck favorites at the Camarillo Ranch from 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM. Admission is free, but food trucks are not. Don’t forget to bring your own chairs and blankets!
5. NSAA Gold Coast Explorer Surfing Contest
Come out to watch and cheer on surfing competitors at the NSSA Gold Coast Explorer Surfing Contest in Ventura Harbor Cove/South Beach this Saturday and Sunday, April 28 – 29 from 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM! The event is free to attend as well as free parking!
