Channel Islands
National Park
Known as California’s Galapagos, the Channel Islands National Park includes five beautiful islands brimming with rare flora and fauna. Explorers can take day trips to all five islands, but for those who want the full experience, there’s overnight camping. Advance reservations are required at all campgrounds, as well as a small nightly reservation fee. Most of the sites are located close to boat landing areas, but there is also some limited backcountry camping allowed on Santa Cruz and Santa Rosa islands. Ventura Beach RV Resort

Point Mugu State Park
Point Mugu State Park is nestled just a few miles north of the Ventura County Line on Highway 1. This California State Park boasts some of the most beautiful scenery on the Malibu Coastline. The park has over 70 miles of hiking trails with dramatic views of the coastline that can’t be found anywhere else on earth. The park has 3 campgrounds on Highway 1: La Jolla Canyon Group Camp, Sycamore Canyon Campground and Thornhill Broome Campground.

Point Mugu Recreation Facilities
The campground is open to Active Duty, National Guard, Reservists, Retired Military, 0-100% DAV, Purple Heart Recipients, Former POW, Veteran Caregivers, DoD civilians, and Sponsored Guests. Located just a few miles further north on Pacific Coast Highway is the Ventura County Naval Base at Point Mugu which offers a pristine beach with amazing views of Mugu Rock and the Santa Monica Mountains. This campground provides R.V., Tent, and Yurt Camping.

Waypoint Ventura
Step back in time at Waypoint Ventura, a unique outdoor experience featuring fully restored vintage travel trailers! Located just one block from Ventura Pier and a short walk from downtown, Waypoint offers modern conveniences with retro flair. There are even bikes for guests who want to go for a beachside cruise. Pets are welcome in certain trailers.Â

Lake Casitas Recreation Area
Located 15 minutes north of Highway 101 is the Lake Casitas Recreation Area. With over 400 campsites, Lake Casitas offers a wide variety of outdoor camping experiences. Reserve a lakeside spot and drift away to the sounds of the gentle water or set up camp on the hillside with breathtaking views of the trees and lake below.
You can make reservations up to 180 days in advance online, by phone, or in person. Lake Casitas accommodates tents, tent trailers, campers and RVs.

Emma Wood State Beach
Known for more than just its surfing, Emma Wood State Beach also has two campsites: basic vehicle camping on the beach and tent camping at Ventura River Group Camp. The campgrounds on Highway 1 offers moderate year-round temperatures that make this the perfect place for swimming, surfing and fishing. It also offers stunning views of the Channel Islands and a wide range of wildlife, including song birds, herons, and dolphins offshore. Dogs are allowed in the campground and day-use area.

Faria Beach Park Campground
This campground is sandwiched between the Pacific Ocean and the Santa Ynez Mountains along Highway 1 in Ventura. Faria Beach Park Campground offers sites with and without hookups, as well as access to the beach, picnic tables, barbecues, and fire rings. Parking is limited and each site is allowed a maximum of six people, Faria Beach Campground is ideal for those looking for privacy.

Hobson County Campground
The last Campgrounds on Highway 1 just north of Faria Beach Park is Hobson County Park. Its a small site with ample beach access and lovely views of the Channel Islands and Santa Ynez Mountains. The mature palm trees scattered throughout the campground and concession stand that give it a fun island feel. Tent and RV sites include access to showers, wifi, and a picnic area. Dogs must be leashed.

Rincon Parkway Campground
RV campers looking for a beautiful, but rustic spot to stay will enjoy Rincon Parkway Campground, a scenic stretch of roadway along the coastline. The campground has a total of 127 parking spots, so it’s a good place to go with a group of fellow RV lovers. Just know that there aren’t any hook ups or shower/bathroom facilities onsite.
