Breath of Life Ventura Triathlon/Relay

June 26

The 18th annual Breath of Life Ventura Triathlon/Relay will be held on Sunday, June 26, 2016 at Ventura Harbor. All proceeds from this charity event will go towards the improvement of treatment facility at local hospitals supporting children diagnosed with Primary Immunodeficiency (PI).  As a thank you for helping the Dina LaVigna Breath of Life Fund, after the race plan on hanging out for the party which will have a hosted barbecue, beer garden (21 and older participants) food fair and live music. Ventura’s 4th of July Street Fair

July 4

Come celebrate Ventura’s 150th Anniversary! Ventura’s 4th of July Street Fair continues its proud 41-year-old tradition on Monday, July 4 from 10am to 5pm in Ventura’s Downtown Cultural District.  Event includes: festive showcase of handmade arts and crafts by more than 300 artisans stretches along six blocks of Main Street from Fir Street to Mission Park. Enjoy savory foods from many booths sponsored by local organizations and businesses; live entertainment on several stages along Main Street; kids Zone at Mission Park where kids can enjoy rides and inflatables and visit a Ventura Fire Department fire engine.  Pushem-Pullem Parade where children and adults and their bicycles and little red wagons are invited to dress up in their favorite patriotic attire.  The parade begins at 10am and marches down Main Street.  Participants receive a free commemorative button while supplies last!


Surf Rodeo 2016

July 16-17

Come to Ventura for this two day music and surf festival at Pierpont Beach, along Seaward Ave. Folks will enjoy over twenty-five bands, a surf contest with a rodeo twist, cornhole competition, beer gardens and live music right on the beach – plus, a street fair with all types of vendors. August 3-14

Live music, awesome food and adorable farm animals to love, the Ventura County Fair is sure to please the whole family. This year’s theme is “A Country Fair with Ocean Fair.”  Wander through some inspirational gardens, join the pie eating contest or watch the awe-inspiring fireworks show at the end of the night. On the morning of Saturday, August 6, all visitors are invited to Downtown Ventura to enjoy the colorful fun of the Annual Ventura County Fair Parade. With high school marching bands, classic cars, horses, clowns, city officials, dancers and more – the parade is a Ventura summertime tradition!


Aloha Beach Festival

September 3-4

Say ‘aloha’ to the 12th Annual Aloha Beach Festival! Held on September 3-4th at the Ventura Promenade and Surfer’s Point,  Part surf contest, Frisbee competition and music festival, the event was founded to promote the Ventura County community along with the Hawaiian aloha spirit – meaning kindness, patience, modesty and unity.  Admission is free.
Oxnard

Annual Oxnard Fourth of July Celebration & Fireworks by the Sea

Come to the Channel Islands Harbor for the 4th of July festivities which include: Children’s Parade which starts at 10:30am and marches down Harbor Blvd. from Albacore to Cabezone Circle; electric Boat Parade which starts at 4:00pm; fireworks begin at 9:00pm and can be viewed throughout the Harbor.  


Vintage Trailer Exhibit

June 25-September 25

The Murphy Auto Museum in Oxnard promises an amazing experience for visitors of all ages. On display now are 40+ Vintage Trailers and campers, plus 90+ vintage cars, Americana, period clothing and one of the largest H/O scale train layouts around.


Concerts by the Sea, Summer Concerts Series at the Channel Islands Harbor

Saturdays, July 2-August 27

Set against a summer sky with the sparkling water as a backdrop, visitors can enjoy nine exciting shows with the “Concerts by the Sea” Summer Concert Series. A wide array of musical entertainment is offered including rock, R&B, jazz, blues and swing. Visitors are encouraged to bring picnics, blankets and lawn chairs and enjoy this fun family event through July and August at the Channel Islands Harbor in Oxnard.  Click here for the show schedule.


Obon Festival

July 9

Free admission and fun for the entire family! Located at Oxnard Buddhist Temple.  Taking place on July 9, 1-8:30pm.  Exhibits and displays include Bonsai, Karate, Judo, Crafts and Craft Workshop in addition to authentic entertainment such as classical Japanese and Okinawa dance, Taiko Drumming, and children’s games. Chowderfest 2016

July 30

The Channel Islands Maritime Museum is proud to announce the 2nd Annual Chowderfest, taking place on July 30, 3-7pm.  Local restaurants compete for “Best Chowder”. Taste a variety of chowders, Firestone Walker Brewery beers and Ventura County Wine Trail wines. Camarillo

A Taste of Camarillo: Wine, Brew and Food Festival

July 31

A Taste of Camarillo is the longest running wine and food festival in Ventura County. Guests spend an afternoon sampling fine wines, craft beers and gourmet foods on the grounds of the historic Camarillo Ranch House. Taking place from 1-4pm, enjoy country western music and dancing with live performances by the popular band, Caught Red Handed. The VIP Lark Saloon, Wet Your Whistle Watering Hole filled with craft beers, silent auction, and boutique shopping will enhance the afternoon; visit with winemakers, brew masters and local chefs in the shade of 100 year old trees.
