December 26 marked the official start of the gray whale migration and it will continue now through mid-April. Island Packers offers fantastic regularly-scheduled winter whale watching excursions, with rates starting at $37 for adults and $27 for kids. Throughout the year, it’s also possible to see Minke Whales, Orca Whales, Common Dolphins, Risso’s Dolphins, Bottlenose Dolphins, Pacific White Sided Dolphins and Dall’s Porpoises. Whale watching trips leave from Oxnard’s Channel Islands and Ventura Harbor Village for breathtaking excursions through some of the richest marine habitats in the world.
