Port Hueneme is known for being the home of Ventura County’s Naval Base. While you can’t  just stroll onto the base, you can check out the wonderful  Seabee Museum next door. Learn the  story of the Naval Seabees, while viewing artifacts dating back to World War II. If you have little  ones, they will have a blast (while learning) at the children’s Science, Technology, Engineering,  and Mathematics (STEM) exhibit. Another main attraction in Port Hueneme is the Hueneme Beach Fest, which is held on August  22nd & 23rd. Live music, yummy food and a beautiful beach sunset all make this party a classic  SoCal experience. Then there is the 50­ acre Hueneme Beach Park with endless white sand  complemented by volleyball courts. If you’re looking for quiet relaxation and leisure, take a stroll along the Port Hueneme Pier .If you’re looking for a little more speed, make sure to visit the local Holiday Inn Express just  steps away from the sand ­ for a Wheel Fun Bike Rental. Hueneme Banana Festival celebrating our favorite yellow fruit! This event is usually held in  September with live music and eats from local restaurants.   


Where to Eat and Drink in Port Hueneme


If you want to dine with views of the Pacific Ocean, visit Surfside Seafood. During the summer,  they offer all­you­can­eat fish and chips every Wednesday night. Grab one of Ventura County’s  own 805 beer and enjoy the stunning sunset. Valentino’s Gourmet Pizza is considered affordable, fresh and delicious. If you’re really craving some Vietnamese food, check out Pho Saigon. This restaurant is a popular spot for locals and a must  try.
