Run, don’t walk to the new Ventura Brew Fest!

A new beer event is coming to town this fall! The Ventura Brew Fest will debut Saturday, Oct. 19 from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Mission Park in Ventura. The freshman beer bash is scheduled to coincide with the annual Ventura Marathon, giving runners a fresh way to celebrate after crossing the finish line.

Ventura County Coast is proud to sponsor this inaugural beer-and-music extravaganza, located at Main and Figueroa streets. Breweries pouring suds include Petaluma-based

Lagunitas Brewing Co. and a small army of local establishments: Poseidon Brewing Co., Institution Ale Company, Leashless Brewing, Red Tandem Brewery, Rincon Brewery, Topa Topa, Ventura Coast Brew Co., and Seaward Brewing.

The festivities will take place alongside the Ventura Marathon 5K and Downtown Mile, giving runners a truly mouth-watering incentive to finish their events as fast as they can. Racers and spectators can sip cold ones at the laidback beer garden and then peruse the various delicious breakfast and lunch options cooked up by local food trucks. (Note to the health-conscious: The menu will include vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free items.)

In addition to the tasty culinary attractions, the event will also feature live music by rock, blues, and funk bands that are guaranteed to get you grooving, as well as yard games and beer-centric shopping at the Ventura Brew Fest Expo.

Festival tasting tickets are sold in bundles of 10, 20, and 30 and include a branded stein. As a bonus, a portion of all event proceeds will benefit Runners for Public Lands, a nonprofit that promotes runner participation in conservation work and environmental causes.

After racing and tasting, spend the weekend enjoying the cool, coastal vibes at one of our local accommodations. There’s something for every mini-vacation mood—luxury resorts, historic inns, classic hotels and motels, or even cozy bed and breakfasts. Our year-round mild weather and open beaches are sure to please after a day of celebrating with fellow beer and fitness lovers.

We’ll see you at the finish line, cold brew in hand!
