What’s Going On: October Events In Ventura County Coast

October is the month you notice leaves change colors, spooky Halloween decorations pop up, and more! It’s definitely starting to feel like Fall and it’s a festive month with different things to do!

Here’s a list of 10 events happening in Ventura County Coast.

1. Oxnard Multicutural Festival

The 22nd Annual Oxnard Multicultural Festival is on Saturday, October 7, 2017 from 11:00 AM-5:00 PM at Plaza Park, Oxnard California. Admission is free and the festival will feature live music, performances, food and vendor booths, exhibitors, demonstrations, arts & crafts, and plenty of family friendly activities! 2. #TBT Food Truck Fest: Halloween Spooktacular

SpoOoOoOoky! Camarillo Ranch Foundation is hosting the Halloween Spooktacular #TBT Food Truck Fest on Thursday, October 26, from 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM! 3. ArtWalk Ventura

ArtWalk Ventura returns on October 7 & 8 and features 700+ artists and 30+ galleries. It’s a super fun, self-guided tour of dozens of galleries, studios, pop-up venues, and transformed PODS Containers in Ventura’s Westside Cultural District and Downtown. 4. Oxnard Steampunk Fest

“Time to put on your goggles, corsets, top hats, and gears! The Oxnard Steampunk Fest starts today, October 14 – 15 from  11:00 AM – 5:00 PM at Heritage Square in Downtown Oxnard. There will be live entertainment, tea dueling, parasol dueling, and more! Costumes, characters, merchants, and presenters are all encouraged to participate! Click here for more information. 5. Pier Under The Stars

Pier Under the Stars is a beachside event that features over 40 local wineries, breweries, restaurants, cafes, and a host of other foods and drinks to benefit the historic Ventura Pier. Guests enjoy unlimited tastings while enjoying music from a live band. This event is held just under the Ventura Pier, offering beautiful views of the ocean. The evening includes a silent auction, a lot of fun and dancing under the stars! The event takes place on Saturday, October 7, from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM. 6. 4th Annual Camarillo Wine & Beer Walk

The Camarillo Wine & Beer Walk features tastings from any of the 20 stops of your choice, music, and a commemorative 9oz wine glass.The event is on Sunday, October 15, from 1:00 PM-4:00 PM. For more information click here.

7. Harvest Festival

The Ventura Harvest Festival Original Art & Craft Show is known as one of the West Coast’s premier shows holding over 300 of the nation’s most talented artisans and American handmade arts & crafts. From glasswork, sculptures, jewelry, clothing, speciality foods, photography, and hand-turned wood, there’s something for everybody. 8. Channel Islands Farmers’ Market Pumpkin Fun Day

A week before Halloween is Channel Islands Farmers’ Market Pumpkin Fun Day. It will be a real treat for kids with a pumpkin decorating contest, trick or treating all day, children’s costume parade at 11:30 AM, and costume contest with prizes at 12:00 PM. The certified Farmers’ & Fishermen’s Market will feature a wonderful fall harvest from local farmers and daily fresh catch seafood by local fishermen, arts & crafts, food, live music and much more. 9. Downtown Oxnard First Thursdays Food Trucks

10.  38th Annual Roam’n Relics Car Show

There are over 500 participants that come from all over Southern California to show off their pre-1979 cars, make new friends, and have a great time. There will be raffles, awards, music, vendors, posters, and food. The event is on October 29 from 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM at Channel Islands Harbor. For more information click

11.  Seaside Highland Games

The Seaside Highland Games is an annual Celtic heritage festival which gathers over 80 clans, societies and bagpipe and drum bands from around the Western United States each year. Festivities include numerous competitions in pipes, drums, dance, athletics, darts, drum majoring and fiddles. Festivalgoers can also enjoy activities such as a petting zoo, a Haggis eating contest, Celtic craft demos for children, storytelling, a parade, Gaelic lessons, history sessions, vendors and more! 12. Adolfo Camarillo’s 153rd Birthday

Adolfo Camarillo’s 153rd birthday is on Saturday, October 22, from 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM and we’re celebrating at the Camarillo Ranch Foundation! To celebrate in true Adolfo fashion, the festivities will include live performances by Ballet Folklorico Bell Arts and musical entertainment by local Mariachi groups. Docent-led home tours of the Camarillo Ranch House will be available along with a special tree planting ceremony commemorating the 125th anniversary of Adolfo’s Queen Anne Victorian home. The event is family friendly and there will be gourmet food trucks available.
