Book Your Stay

Don’t tell summer, but this is usually when we get the best weather. It’s not too hot, and the surrounding mountains are still green from a few winter showers. Plus, the crowds aren’t as big, making it the perfect time for a weeklong getaway. From oceanfront brunches to Easter egg hunts, the Ventura County Coast has you covered. This family-friendly itinerary includes events you can add to your own traditions and remember for years to come.
Easter Sunday Events
Planning an Easter weekend with the family is easier than it sounds. If starting the day with a spiritual service is your jam, Harbor Cove Beach hosts an annual sunrise service at 6:00 AM on Easter Sunday. Liminal Church of Ventura shares a resurrection story, accompanied by the soothing sounds of gentle waves.
When you’re done, head over to Underwood Family Farms in Moorpark. They host a Springtime Easter Festival. It’s one of the largest seasonal events in the county and a local favorite. There will be animal shows, tractor-drawn wagon rides, and an egg hunt for kids. The Easter Bunny has his own house on the farm, too, so make sure to stop by and say hi!
Easter Egg Hunt in Ventura
“The Hunt” at Plaza Park in Downtown Ventura is a massive free community egg hunt happening on Saturday, March 28th. Thousands of eggs will be scattered throughout the area for kids 0-12 to enjoy. The Easter Bunny will make a special appearance, and don’t forget to check out the bunny farm. Kids can also enjoy bounce houses, carnival rides, and games.
Easter Egg Hunt in Oxnard
Closer to Oxnard? They also host the “Egg-ccessible Eggstravaganza” at College Park the same day from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM. This is a great option for families who need more activities catered to all abilities. There are traditional and sensory-friendly egg hunts!
Easter Egg Hunt in Camarillo
You can also spread out your egg hunt with the Easter Eggstravaganza in Camarillo. This event is on April 4 from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM. They’ll have plenty of Easter Bunny photo ops, live music, and food trucks. Plus, some pretty egg-cellent scavenger hunt prizes.
Spring Wine Walk
Celebrate Easter early this year and head over to Downtown Ventura for the Spring Wine Walk. It’s a can’t-miss event where you can sample over 50 tasting locations as you stroll through the fair and enjoy live music. Check-in is from 2:00 PM – 4:45 PM and the wine tasting is from 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM. The vendor fair is my favorite part because there are so many opportunities to support local artists and crafters.
Just make sure to register for the events in advance to secure your spot.
Where to go for Easter Brunch?
Ventura Harbor Village is always an easy choice when it comes to finding good brunch spots. It’s a cute seaside town where you can walk around and explore. There will be live music on April 4th from 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM through Easter Sunday. Andria’s Seafood Restaurant is right on the water and they were voted “Best Seafood Market” by locals. The Parlor is also a cute spot to hit up. They have an old-school soda fountain you have to try.
Immigrant Son Caffe has two locations, one in Ventura and Oxnard, so wherever your Easter weekend takes you, you’ll have an amazing menu to choose from. Their breakfast lasagna is *chef’s kiss*.
Other good Easter brunch spots
- Social Tap Ventura
- Duke’s Beach Grill
- Beach House Tacos
- Hollywood Beach Cafe
- La Jenelle Natural Cafe (good vegan options!)
Pack your bags and get ready for an amazing Easter weekend in Ventura County Coast. There’s always something to do for everyone; the carnival rides and Easter egg hunts alone will have the whole family begging to come back for more. It’s why so many of us locals love making it a part of our own traditions. I have a feeling this year is going to be the best yet!
