Located at Camarillo and Oxnard Airports, Area 805 will provide the infrastructure needed to test and scale eVTOL aircraft and autonomous aviation technology, right here in California.
The Area 805 Autonomous Innovation Center is a regional hub for next-generation air mobility, clean technology, and cross-sector collaboration. Located at the Camarillo Airport, the center brings together public, private, and academic partners to accelerate research, testing, and workforce development in emerging industries.
What is Area 805?
Area 805: Autonomous Innovation Center will transform Camarillo and Oxnard Airports into California’s premier civilian AAM ecosystem through three strategic investments: a state-of-the-art Innovation Center with incubation space, high-capacity eVTOL charging infrastructure, and a comprehensive R&D Lab for rapid prototyping. Area 805 represents a growing ecosystem of innovation in Ventura County, centered on the development of autonomous and advanced air mobility technologies. Anchored by the Area 805 Innovation Center, the initiative provides space and resources for collaboration, testing, and technology development—linking local industry, higher education, and government to drive sustainable growth.
