What is Ventura County Farm Day?
Ventura County Farm Day is an opportunity for the public to celebrate the hands and lands that feed us through engaging and informative tours of a variety of farms, ranches and ag organizations. Farm Day is the one day out of the year where growers open their doors to the public, allowing visitors to experience first hand where their food comes from. Farm Day is an annual FREE event open to all!
What Should I Expect at Farm Day?
Farm Day is on Saturday, November 2nd from 10am to 3pm. Most farms will have tours starting at the top of each hour, and will be open throughout the day. Who Organizes Farm Day?
Farm Day is organized by SEEAG (Students for Eco-Education & Agriculture), a 501(c)3 non-profit organization working in Ventura & Santa Barbara Counties. SEEAG’s mission is to educate students and the greater community about the farm origins of our food and agriculture’s contribution to our nutritional well-being. Visit the SEEAG Hub at Farm Day and learn about their impact on individuals across the county.

Farm Day Every Day Tours
Now you can experience Farm Day year round! SEEAG has expanded the Ventura County Farm Day program to include free tours held at local farms across the region.
What to expect:
Farm Day tours are approximately two hour immersive experiences with hands on learning, education, and food literacy. The program is aimed helping guests gain knowledge in sustainable farming techniques, growing crops, and livestock management.

Visit a Roadside Stand
Stock up on fresh fruits and vegetables that you won’t find at any of your local grocery stores. Many of the region’s roadside fruit stands carry specialty items, including: locally made baked goods, treats, arts, crafts, and more.
Visit a Certified Farmer’s Market
Certified farmer’s markets are like roadside markets, but carry a wider selection of products. Here you’ll find locally and regionally grown produce, such as: fruits, vegetables, dairy, poultry, meats, and even locally sourced fish.
Places to Eat
Our local restaurants provide a diverse range of dining options to choose from, including: farm to table, vegetarian, vegan, and many cultural options. A great deal of our seafood restaurants offer seasonal catches like tuna, halibut, sea bass, and sea urchin. Vegan and vegetarian eateries source much of their ingredients from seasonally grown produce on the coast. Visiting a local farm to table restaurant is an excellent way to experience the region’s agriculture at work.

Did you know that Ventura County Coast is home to several museums that highlight the region’s agricultural history? Our agricultural museums cover time periods ranging from Chumash, Spanish, Mexican, and American annexation periods, to present day. Museum exhibits also display farm equipment, processing, and packing methods used throughout history. Here’s a list of the agricultural museums to see when you visit Ventura County Coast. Exploring the region’s vast selection of outdoor recreation opportunities is an outstanding way to experience the coast’s natural resources. Ventura’s hiking trails traverse natural and agricultural landscapes as well as a scenic botanical garden with panoramic views. Hiking trails near Camarillo highlight stunning ocean vistas as well as the region’s natural environment. Other outdoor recreation opportunities include surfing, fishing, whale watching, scuba diving, and outdoor sports just to name a few.
