The Blue Angels Air Show at Naval Base Point Mugu will be a special event in 2023. For the third time in military aviation history, the U.S. Navy Blue Angels and the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds will headline together. This visitor’s guide provides showtimes, event itinerary, hotels, and things to do while you’re in town.

Requirements:
Entry to the air show requires a government issued photo ID for US Persons. For non-US persons, a passport is required. Non-US persons with a CA driver’s license must present a valid passport.

By car: If coming from Los Angeles, it’s practically a straight shot to Ventura County Coast via the 101 Freeway. If you’re taking PCH (HWY 1) from Santa Monica, head north and take the Las Posas exit at Naval Base Ventura County Point Mugu. If coming from the north, connect with HWY 101 in San Jose and follow it south and exit Las Posas Road. If you’re coming from I-5, take HWY 126 east along the Santa Clara River to the coast then take the 101 Freeway South to the Las Posas Exit turn right and follow till you reach the Point Mugu Air Show.
By train: Traveling to Ventura County Coast has never been easier (or more comfortable)! Amtrak trains offer daily service at Camarillo, Oxnard and Ventura stations. Climb aboard, grab a drink and relax on train ride. Take an Uber from the train station to the Point Mugu Air Show. Camarillo and Oxnard are the closest train stations to the naval air station.
Several road closures will be in effect for the Point Mugu Airshow. It is recommended individuals traveling to Pt Mugu use the following access points to avoid dead-end closures. Significant traffic impacts are anticipated in and around the show area.
From Los Angeles / Northbound Highway 101
Take the Las Posas Road exit and travel South 7 miles to Naval Base Ventura County.
From Ventura / Southbound Highway 101
Take the Rice Road exit and travel South to Pacific Coast Highway: Take Pacific Coast Highway 3 miles and exit Wood Road
From Santa Monica / Northbound Pacific Coast Highway 1: Take Pacific Coast Highway to the Wood Road exit
