Channel Islands National Park
The crown jewel of the Ventura County Coast. Channel Islands National Park is a place of enchantment. This Island Archipelago lies just a few nautical miles off the coast with a wide selection of family oriented activities from Whale Watching, Kayak Tours, Wildlife Tours, Camping, and Hiking.
Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area
Camarillo is just a few minutes away from the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area. This park is filled with stunning views from its vast trail system. Many of the park’s trails lead to ocean vistas that will simply blow your mind. Trekkers can hike across the mountain range all the way to Pacific Palisades in Los Angeles County.

From taco stands, to burger joints, the region is filled with many kid friendly dining options that you’ll definitely want to take advantage of. Old Town Camarillo has lots of family dining options while the Port Hueneme Pier is the perfect place for fish and chips and having a picture perfect beach day. Oxnard is home to the Taco Trail with plenty of kid friendly dining options. The Ventura Promenade has two great kid friendly options right on the pier adjacent to a beach playground.
